User Based Ads VS Content Based Ads. Blogging Tips

User Based Ads VS Content Based Ads.

Which one should you go for?

Well… the answer is it depends!

But first, what’s the difference?

User based ads are ads that get shown to visitors on your site based on their browsing history.

The sites they’ve visited recently, the things they’ve searched for and the links (and adverts) they’ve clicked recently.

On the other hand, content based ads are ads that are shown to visitors based on the exact posts or content they’re viewing on your site.

Naturally, this posts or content would contain some keywords which advertisers are willing to target in Google. If one or more of these keywords appear in your post, it would trigger the ads to get shown to the visitor.

Depending on the location of the visitor, their gender and age bracket, different ads could get triggered to be shown to each visitor uniquely.

So if you want to make money with Adsense, which one should you use more?

Currently, content based ads attracts a higher CPC than user based ads, that’s depending on the keywords the content is based on though.

When you write posts about a high CPC keyword, and there are advertisers targeting that keyword, it would likely trigger the ad when people view the post.

So how do you ensure content based ads display on your site most of the time?

The answer is by blocking User Based Ads. Once user based ads are blocked, content based ads begin to display by default.

Take note that blocking User based ads doesn’t stop retargeting ads from displaying on your site.
